18 April 2019

Representatives of Przedsiębiorstwo Państwowe Porty Lotnicze, the administrator of the airport named after Chopin in Warsaw and the owner of the airport in Radom, met in February with the heads of travel agencies chartering airplanes from Okęcie. PPL announced restrictions on charter traffic at this airport, aimed at its exclusion in 2021. At the same time, in connection with the new large investment at the Radom airport (PLN 425 million in the first stage), they indicate Sadków as an alternative. An additional incentive to make such a decision is to be preferential conditions for the first eager. ITAKA, the largest travel agency in Poland,  intends to use the offer and the first to transfer charter flights from Warsaw to the new airport, which is being built at Sadków in Radom.

The investment at the Radom airport will start with the demolition of the existing terminal, which will start after Easter. The new terminal will have 30 check-in counters, 8 security checkpoints, 9 check-in desks: 4 Schengen, 3 NonSchengen, 2 Schengen / Non-Schengen, 8 passport check-in points in the departures area, 8 passport check-in points in the arrivals zone and 3 luggage receiving carousels. The value of the investment is nearly PLN 1.9 million.
